Dear Taekwondo Colleagues and family,

On behalf of the Asian Taekwondo Union(ATU), I wish you have a happy new year with good health, and appreciate your support for Taekwondo promotion and the WTF.

I would like to begin by thanking Dr. Daisoon Lee for his remarkable contribution and dedication for Asian Taekwondo Union on behalf of all ATU family. I truly believe that ATU has been notably prospered by his hard work and leadership.

I also greatly appreciate to Dr. Chungwon Choue, WTF president, and all WTF staffs for their support and dedication. Without continuous supports from you and all Taekwondo family in the world we could not have such a great 40th year anniversary at Bali, Indonesia last year.

At the threshold of another decade, as a new elected president of Continental Union, I dare promise all Taekwondo colleagues and families to be a role model to show Taekwondo spirit corresponding with courtesy and integrity, and support WTF and other Continental Unions for ensuring our cohesion as one strong family and promoting Taekwondo with true values of Taekwondo.

The characteristics of sports are provision of sociality, nature of improvement, truthfulness and verifiability; and freedom and equality. We should never forget these principles. Therefore, a major duty of Taekwondo leaders for promoting

Taekwondo is to educate our Taekwondo families to perceive the characteristics.

The spirit of Taekwondo should be adhered to all the people who train Taekwondo and places where Taekwondo exist. Then, we don’t need to worry about unfairness of judging and biased decision makings at any Taekwondo competition venues.

Taekwondo has been grown so rapidly and become one of the biggest Olympic sports. It’s very good and thankful. However, this external growth, I feel, may dilute the true value and spirit of Taekwondo as a great martial-art and sport.

So, for another decade, we should look into our internal growth concerning with the spirit and characteristics of Taekwondo, and put some efforts on it.

In 2014, ATU is facing on many important events. Those are as follows:
